Core Skills Update for Emergency Carers
Our very popular one day course offering a mixture of practical skills stations and scenario training, interspersed with talks on optimising team performance, CPR updates, emergency obstetrics, and more. This is a very 'hands on' course with the opportunity to practice many skills we don’t often get the chance to perform in our daily work.
As a stand-alone course this is an excellent opportunity for Emergency Physicians, Registrars and other medical practitioners to refresh and update their skills. It is suitable for a range of specialties - in particular, Rural GPs, Rural Hospital Physicians, and military doctors have found this course very worthwhile.
Multiple MOPs points are available. The course is fully accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

"Lovely course to formalise what has been previously learned on an ad-hoc basis on-the-job"
"Great hands on experience with good ratios of tutors to trainees"
"Walk through thoracotomy was great. Useful to go through it in a relaxed setting"
"This was a great way to get my difficult to do MOPs points signed off. But more than that it was an excellent practical high end refresher on exactly how to use some of the equipment in the ED that we do not often break out – I would highly recommend!"
